Junior vs. Teen Competition Team
Which One Is Right for You?
At Project 3 Dance Company, we offer two competition team levels tailored to each dancer's skill, not just age. Placement is based on proficiency, ensuring dancers are in a group with peers who match their abilities. Age ranges listed are approximate.
JUNIORS
(Ages 10-14)
Ideal for: Young dancers building strong technique and performance skills.
TEENS
(Ages 15-19)
Ideal for: Experienced dancers ready for advanced training and competition.

At Project 3 Dance Company, our competition teams are built for dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level. We don’t just create great performers— we develop disciplined, passionate, and versatile dancers prepared for success in competitive dance, performing arts high schools, college teams, and beyond.
At P3DC, we believe that competition is more than just winning trophies—it’s about growth, resilience, and artistry. Our dancers train in multiple styles, develop strong technique, and gain valuable performance experience that sets them apart. When you join our competition team, you’re not just part of a dance studio—you’re part of a family that pushes, supports, and celebrates each other every step of the way.
TEAM REQUIREMENTS
Joining a P3DC competition team requires a year-long commitment to excellence. Here’s what you can expect:
AUDITION
All prospective Junior & Teen Competition Team dancers are required to audition and be selected for a competition team piece. Auditions will assess technique, performance quality, and readiness for competitive-level choreography.
FALL
In the Fall, all Junior & Teen Competition Team dancers are required to enroll in a Ballet class and a Conditioning class in addition to the competitive choreography class(es) they were selected for.
SUMMER
Returning Junior & Teen Competition Team Members must take class in the Summer. Members are required to take technique, conditioning, and any choreography classes they are interested in auditioning for in the Fall season.
COMPETITIONS
Junior & Teen Competition Team dancers are expected to attend all scheduled regional competitions in March-May. Every other year, our team competes at the National competition in July. All dates, locations and associated costs will be communicated well in advance.
COMMITMENT
We expect dedication to the team, full participation in classes, rehearsals, and performances, and a willingness to grow both individually and as part of the group. Competition team members especially should display respect for teachers, teammates, and studio rules.
